Methodist’s Advanced Obstetrical Services (AOS) perinatal specialists are experienced in providing the highest level of care to high-risk obstetric patients.
Our obstetrics and AOS perinatal specialists collaborate to ensure close monitoring and safe delivery. Methodist’s AOS Clinic, which is available at both campuses, allows for Northwest Indiana mothers to benefit from the monitoring they need without leaving the community.
Other tests include:
First and Second Trimester Screenings
These screenings follow American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology guidelines. Nuchal tranlucency measurements are performed only by certified ultrasonagraphers trained in this procedure.
Targeted Level 2 Ultrasounds
Board Certified Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians and sonographers who are experienced in fetal imaging perform these ultrasounds to identify fetal abnormalities.
Diabetes Co-Management
These services are available for insulin and non-insulin dependent patients.
Non-Stress Testing and Biophysical Profile
These procedures evaluate the well-being of the fetus and measure such things as the amount of amniotic fluid and fetal movement, muscle tone, and lung movement. The procedures also establish characteristics such as fetal age, sex and weight, and help diagnose any conditions that might affect development.
